Elmira
College, Elmira, NY, 1999
– present
Professor of Art, Full-time,
Tenured, Fine Arts Division, Department of Art
I teach all levels of painting, drawing, figure
drawing, and digital imaging
In addition, I also created
and teach a unique course every two years entitled;
Under the Floorboards – Hidden Art of the
Holocaust. The 275-page syllabus involves a comprehensive
visual survey course on the history of the Holocaust,
with a particular focus on clandestine artwork and
SS commissioned artwork made by prisoners inside
Nazi concentration camps and ghettos from 1933-45.
Course content includes thorough components of;
Hitler’s own art portfolio, official Nazi
art and film, German and Allied Propaganda art and
Degenerate Art. I also teach a rare off-campus course
known as “Project
DUMBO” an all-encompassing course
based in Brooklyn where nine select art majors live
and work together in a loft and explore the challenges
of life in the city for a young artist.
